How to Increase virtual memory for your PC easily

When trying to launch a program, large or small, some users will get the following error message:
“Your system is low on virtual memory. To ensure that Windows runs properly, increase the size of your virtual memory paging file.”

increase virtual memory

We know that virtual memory is temporary storage space on your computer hard disk that Windows uses in conjunction with random access memory (RAM). This way, the computer and some programs will run correctly. But there are times for you to repair virtual memory or increase it so as to always maintain stable computer running.

Typically, when getting the low virtual memory error message, your computer runs slowly as well. So the first tip you should do is to press “Ctrl + Shift + Esc” or “Ctrl + Shift + Delete” to bring the task manager. When the Task Manage is up, find which program uses the higher or most CPU/memory, then you can manually stop it. This simple step helps to release more available memory to make the computer run smoothly without the “virtual memory is low” error message. By the way, this always helps to prevent a random computer shutdown error effectively.

After the above steps, you should directly use the Windows built-in Disk Cleanup utility to free up space; this always helps to release some available virtual memory. To release more available disk space, it is highly that you can uninstall all unneeded programs/remove all useless files from your computer immediately.

Then, you’d better uninstall some unwanted programs on the computer. The unneeded programs will waste up precious hard disk space or system virtual memory, making the computer to run slowly or freeze at any time. To uninstall those programs, just follow these steps:
*Click Start and go to Control Panel.
*Click on Programs and Features icon.
*Right click on the unwanted programs within the list.
*Click Uninstall and follow the on-screen steps to uninstall the programs.

Fourthly, you need to deeply scan and remove any computer viruses from the computer. A virus attack can bring in some errors just like low virtual memory or unusual behavior such as browser redirects, automatic shutdowns and frequent popping-up error messages, etc to make the computer run slowly. If you are infected, lots of system resources will be taken up and it is no doubt that you will soon get a low virtual memory error message. You should run a full system scan with a trusted antivirus program. If any viruses are detected, directly delete them. By the way, to always ensure the smooth running of the PC, you should let your antivirus tool always run in the background to realtime detect and remove computer viruses.

However, the easiest & safest way to increase virtual memory is to perform a registry error fix. This is because, a messed up Windows registry database will take a much longer time to load the PC/programs or even perform a simple PC task, bringing in a “virtual memory is limited” error message easily. You can do thing by running a good registry fix tool that will thoroughly scan the whole computer & fix all errors existing in the Windows registry database. This helps to minimize or eliminate the risks if cleaning it up manually. Another advantage of dealing with registry errors through an automated cleaner is that it helps to find out all the errors insides the registry database causing the appearance of various computer problems.

Still looking for a virtual memory repair tool so as to make all installed programs and the computer run correctly? Download and run Advanced PC tweaker here; it will completely scan your whole PC to deal with some errors, free up available disk space and optimize memory effectively.
